AGUA SOLIDARIA – Agua potable y lucha contra la malaria
La Delegada de Medio Ambiente, Ana Botella, ha dado salida al 1er. Convoy “SAMUR-AGUA SOLIDARIA” RUMBO A LA AMAZONÍA PERUANA, LUCHA CONTRA LA MALARIA, dentro de un emotivo acto que celebramos en el patio de Cristales y plaza de la Villa de Madrid.
El acto comenzó, en un marco incomparable como es el Patio de Cristales, con un video explicativo de AGUA SOLIDARIA desde 2005 con proyección a esta nueva etapa 2009-2012. Posteriormente el turno de palabras comenzaba con don Ángel García Lorite, presidente de Bomberos Unidos, organización que ejecuta el programa “Agua Solidaria” del Ayuntamiento de Madrid. Después, don Enrique Ferrando, el presidente de Emergencia 2000, empresa que ha donado las siete ambulancias. También contamos con la honorable presencia y participación del embajador de Perú, don José Luis Sánchez-Cerro, y del congresista de la Amazonía para la República del Perú, Jorge Foinquinos. Como broche de oro, cerró el turno de palabras la Delegada de Medio Ambiente, doña Ana Botella. Al acto también asistieron otras personalidades colaboradoras del proyecto como fue don Ignacio Pascual, Consejero Delegado de la compañía aérea Air Comet; y el actual Presidente de IFEMA (y creador del SAMUR en Madrid siendo Alcalde de la ciudad capital), D. José Maria Alvarez del Manzano.
Tras el turno de palabras, doña Ana Botella dio salida, en la plaza de la Villa, a las siete ambulancias SAMUR AMAZONICO rumbo a Peru, donde serán entregadas el próximo 23 de Marzo en Acto Oficial en la ciudad capital LIMA, para su inmediato traslado y puesta en funcionamiento en la Región Amazónica, a cargo de las diferentes comandancias de Bomberos para la Lucha contra la Malaria y ante Emergencias dentro de las siete provincias amazónicas del Perú.
A través del Gobierno Regional de Loreto, que recibirá las ambulancias junto a la comitiva española, presidida por la Delegada de Medio Ambiente, que llegará el próximo 22 de marzo a Iquitos, serán entregadas a cada base Central de Bomberos tras el Acto protocolario en Lima para lucha contra la malaria, en coordinación directa con la DIRSA.
El Ayuntamiento de Madrid, Busf y la Región de Loreto (dentro del programa Agua Solidaria-SAMUR Amazónico-Concejalía de Medio Ambiente), responde a la emergencia creada por la malaria. Desde octubre de 2.005, el Ayuntamiento de Madrid está presente en la provincia de Maynas (Loreto), con el proyecto AGUA SOLIDARIA de “instalación y puesta operativa de un sistema permanente de captación, potabilización y distribución de agua potable”. Programa de Cooperación que cuenta con el respaldo de autoridades locales, el gobierno regional de Loreto y la Dirección General de Salud, otras instituciones y empresas.
A este proyecto se une ahora la donación de estas ambulancias terrestres, que van destinadas a cada una de las siete provincias de la Región Amazónica (Loreto, Alto Amazonas, Maynas, Mariscal Ramón Castilla, Datem del Marañón , Requena y Ucayali), que se unirán a otras dos ambulancias terrestres y dos embarcaciones medicalizadas SAMUR AMAZÓNICO, que están funcionando dentro de dicho proyecto.
Todo, para la lucha contra la malaria, un mal mundial que hoy en día tiene una fuerte presencia en la Amazonía peruana.
Actualmente la Organización Panamericana de la Salud cifra en más de 64.000 los casos diagnosticados en este país (sin diagnóstico registrado, el número ascendería a 79.000), teniendo así una de las tasas más altas de América Latina.
